In the municipality
of Casale Marittimo, in a panoramic position and
only 10 kms from the sea, you will find century farmhouse
'Casalvecchio'. This is the location of the ruins
of the old Casale. The remains of this Etruscan settlement
nestled on the hillside, which are still visible,
date back to the 8th century BC. |
The rural building is surrounded
by an agricultural land of 140.000 square metres, which is accessible
by a country road of about 1 km. The parking place
is private and is situated near the house. The sea is in
sight from any point of the area, and can be reached in 15 minutes
by car. The nearest beach is Marina di Bibbona.
the distance from roads, highways, railwais and centres makes
Casalvecchio a place of absolute quietness; besides,
thanks to its position at about 200 metres above the sea,
the area is always temperate. A small round swimming-pool, (6,40
in diameter, 1,20 in height), installed out of the ground, is
at the guests'disposal in the garden. It can be used from second
hald of May to the first half of September. Casalvecchio
is locafed along the route of an enchanting wine and gourmet itinerary,
The Wine Road (La Strada del Vino). The itinerary
includes Castellina, Montescudaio,
Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri (Sassicaia),
which are all renowned wine growing regions. The house is also
dose to charming centres of historic interest such as Bolgheri,
Castagneto Carducci, Casale Marittimo,
Volterra, San Gimignano,
Pisa, Massa Marittima, Populonia
and many others.

of Elba is dose by, and numerous ferries connect
Piombino to Porto Ferraio
in just under an hour. Oniy 5 kms from Casalvecchio there
is also the thermal pool of Calidario di Caldana.
The hot spring water that runs into this naturai lake is
at a Constant temperature of 37°C which, makes bathing
possible all throughout the year. |

The surrounding plains and rolling
hills present ideai terram for bicycling for ali the family. the
endless beaches, and the pine forest tucked behind the sand dunes,
are perfect locations for late evening walks to enjovjheunforgettable
sunsets. As are the hillside forests, with their vegetation typical
ofthe Mediterranean area, which host deer, bore,
foxes and other wild animals. It is also possible to take advantage
ofone of the quent horse riding tours that are conducted in the
area.

The many archaeological
remains, that can be found ali over the region,
attesi to the ancient civilisations that flourished in this
part of Tuscany, from the preistorie populations to the
Italie Indo-Europeans to the Etruscans
and Romans. Wherever you go you will find,
carved into the hillsides, medieval villages
that are framed by olive groves, pine,
cypress oak trees. |
For the season , four apartments
are the guest's disposal: three are situated on the ground floor
of the building ( which opens onto the garden ), and each of them
has an independent terrace. The apartment n. 1,
of 39 square metres, is for 4 people. It comprises a kitchen/living
room with a double sofa bed which is separated by a built in wardrobe
room divider from the double bedroom. The apartment has
a small bathroom with shower, WC, washbasin. The apartment
n.2, of 52 square meters, is ideal for 5 people. It has a kitchen/living
room with a double sofa bed, one double bedroom with the addition
of one single bed, a bathroom with shower, WC, washbasin. The
apartment n°4, of 80 square meters, is ideal for 6 people. It
comprises living room with kitchen, two sofas and single bed.
Double bedroom. Second bedroom with three single beds. Bathroom
and 40 square meters terrace. The internal walls of the three
apartments are "pietra a vista" ("stones in sight"). The
apartment n°3, of 50 square meters is ideal
for 4-5 people. It is situated on the first floor and it has a
kitchen/living area that containa one double sofa bed, one bedroom
with double bed and a songle, a bathroom (with shower, wc and
washbasin) and terrace. The apartment n° 5 of 40 square meters (4 people) is situated too on the first floor and it has a kitchen/living area that contain one double sofa bed, one bedroom with double bed, bathroom and terrace. |

The price is inclusive of electricity
and the consumption of gas in the kitchen and for the water
heater. The price does not include heating which would be added
to the tariff. A fee of Euro 50 is to be paid by the clients
when leaving the apartment in a state that requires a
cleaning service. The deposit required with every weekly
reservation will be between Euro 80 a Euro 200 depending
on the season. On arrival the balance will be required plus
a caution of Euro 100. The caution will be returned on the
moming of departure if all is in order. The renting terms are
weekly, which is calculated from Saturday to Saturday. Guests
will be welcomed between 16.00 and 18.00 Saturdays and are required
to leave the apartment between 8.00 and 10.00 the following
Saturday. In the apartment there aren't sheets and towels.
The keys of Casalevecchio apartments will be consigned by Casale Aurelia. Casale Aurelia is easily found taking the A12 motorway for PISA – LIVORNO – ROSIGNANP. Follow the A12 until Rosignano and hand in the direction GROSSETO _ROMA on the “Siperstrada” SS1 until La California. Here leave a Superstrada and turn right. At La California continue south for 3 km. After the roundabout we are 800 m on the lesft where the sign for “Emporio Antiquario”.
